
HINT: If I were you, I would stop looking at a non-working progarm, and instead look at one that has been tested and does work, and does not allow ANY spills under ANY condition. You will not be able to do it without adding some similar logic to your program.

However, the devious course instructors figured out how to add extra student work by requiring that Exercise #3 be programmed to allow the selector switch to be operated WHILE RUNNING, WITHOUT SPILLS! To do that, see Post #14, Rung 001.

Most processes are shut down while such changes are made. The original exercise was not designed to switch the operating mode while RUNNING. Now you have described the problem concisely.
